Frequently Asked Questions
Is Choice Parenting a nanny placement agency?
Choice Parenting is NOT a nanny placement agency or employment service. Instead, we educate you as the employer with the childcare industry knowledge that is needed to confidently find and maintain a great nanny on your own without the high cost of an agency. We personalize all of our services and recommendations based on your family's wants, budget, and timing to assist you in whatever way you need us most. We are available on an hourly/ contract basis to assist you in finding a quality daycare or nanny candidates that matches your specific needs to save you time and energy.
What area does Choice Parenting serve?
We are based in Hoboken, NJ but our in person coaching sessions and group classes can be held within a 60 minute commute of Manhattan. We are also available for phone sessions or video conferences if the distance is prohibitive. Please email for any questions regarding distance and travel.
Where and when are the in person childcare coaching sessions held?
We are happy to schedule your in person session at a time and location that is convenient and comfortable for you. We often meet families in their homes, offices, or at a local coffee shop during the weekday, evenings and weekends. Sessions can usually be scheduled within a week or two of purchase. Feel free to email for more information on location and times available.
What can I expect during the childcare coaching session?
Together, we will review the details of your Family Need and Childcare Assessment (as applicable) and discuss your unique family's needs, wants, questions and any childcare concerns. Holly will provide do-it-yourself information, tips, and recommendation to teach you the best practices for finding, hiring, training and maintaining the right caregiver for your children. Coaching sessions times are approximately 2- 2.5 hours depending upon your questions and situation. If more time is needed based on your needs, we can discuss a prorated hourly rate or the custom hourly services that are available.
What should I expect after purchasing a coaching session?
We will send you an email to schedule your consultation along with a copy of the Family Assessment and Nanny Needs Questionnaire (as applicable). We ask that you fill these questionnaire and return via email before our session. These details will help us tailor and prepare the information and tools to best support you.
What are the technical requirements?
All documents are in PDF format. You must have at least the free version of Adobe Reader to use all form functions on templates and checklists. You can download the Adobe Reader for any operational system for free here. You can also read and fill out forms using the free app of the Adobe Reader for your mobile device.
Does my spouse/ partner need to be apart of the childcare coaching session or can I do this on my own?
It is not mandatory for your parenting partner to join you for the in person session, however it is recommended. Ideally your childcare choice will be based on your family as a whole and thus, the process works best if both parties are involved in the decision making process. We understand that time can be precious so if one parent is unable to attend, we would ideally like for both parents to fill out the 'Family Assessment' together.
How do refunds and exchanges work?
We are happy to credit your account for any unused service packages to be used towards an alternative package, hourly consulting, or a downloadable resource from our store. Please contact us via email for assistance. We aim to please you, at this time we do not offer refunds for downloads and services. Email Holly with any concerns regarding any of our products or service.
What are the lateness and cancelation policies for the in person sessions?
There will be a $50 fee for all cancelations within 24hours of the scheduled session time. Late arrivals will be subject to an equal deduction of session time.
Please be sure to read our Terms and Conditions and email Holly with any questions or concerns.
