I love "discovery bottles"! I filled one bottle with "Christmas" holly and glitter and the other with yellow food coloring and orange flowers. I tend to think that Parker was drawn to the bottle with "holly" inside but I may be bias ;) When I first placed the bottles in front of Parker, he was not sure what to do with them but after shaking and drawing his attention to the bottles he soon discovered his own interest in the small objects floating inside. I am curious to see how much more he likes the experience of discovery bottles as he grows!

My step daughter was visiting from Brazil and we took her to Johnny Rockets for a milkshake. I love that this place gives out helium balloons! While balloons are known to be a choking hazard and latex allergies are fairly common... I was closely supervising and I know my son does not have issues with the latex. I loosely tied the ballon to his leg and watch him kick and grab the string and balloon! So fun! We played with this ballon for days until it's inevitable death. We will soon need to visit Johnny Rockets again!

Let me tell you: I cannot photoshop this kid's face.... I just don't have the tech abilities! He absolutely loved the butcher paper and we played with it all week! He loved the sound of the paper under his body as he kicked and rolled just as much as he enjoyed crunching it under his fingers!
I made an egg quiche and used a frozen pie crust that came with this fascinating aluminum pan. Parker was interested, petrified, happy and overwhelmed with the sensory explosion! My personal favorite was his reaction when I placed the pan under his feet. I could see his "wheels" turning as he kicked up and down trying to figure out where the sound was coming from and if he was in fact really making the noise.
Did you try this activity with your little one? If so please share your child's age and their response in our comment section.

"Jingle bells... jingle bell... jingle all the way!!!" I always hated this holiday song (as it gets stuck in my head for days at a time!) but I loved experiencing red jingles bell with Parker. I picked up this fun season decor item from Target during the Christmas season but had way more fun with it months later when looking at these noisy and visually stimulating bells through his baby eyes, ears and little hands!

See the bubble wrap! Touch the bubble wrap! Hear the bubble wrap! We are working on a sensory experience but did our best to not have the baby taste or smell the bubble wrap! Call me crazy but I washed the bubble wrap in baby friendly dish detergent and dried before allowing him to touch. Bubble wrap along with many other props can be dangerous if not closely watched by a caring adult. However, Parker thought it was great..... he jumped with excitement every time I or he popped a bubble! Bubble wrap is really soft and a very interesting tactile experience for adults and kids alike- give it a try!
